Jar Financial Group, LLC (“Jar,” “we,” “us”) operates this site and the private members forum we call the Dealroom. This policy explains what we collect when you visit the site or apply for membership, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it.
Information we collect.
Application information. When you submit an application to the Dealroom, we collect what you tell us — your name, contact details, the firm you operate, the question you want answered, and anything else you choose to share.
Account information. If you become a member and create an account, we store your email, the password hash (we never see the password itself), and your display name.
Activity inside the Dealroom. Posts, replies, RSVPs, and other things you contribute to the members forum. Members consent to other members seeing this when they join.
Technical data. Standard request metadata — IP address, user-agent, referrer, and the pages you visit. We use this to keep the site fast and to spot abuse, not to build advertising profiles.
How we use it.
To review applications and decide whether the Dealroom is the right fit for you.
To run the members forum and operate the underlying account, including sending you transactional email like sign-in links and notifications you have explicitly opted into.
To keep the site secure — investigating suspicious activity, abuse, or misuse of the forum.
To meet legal and regulatory obligations (recordkeeping, anti-fraud, tax, and compliance with U.S. securities law as it applies to us as a Reg D 506(b) issuer).
What we don't do.
We do not sell your information. Full stop.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers. The site is not built for ad retargeting.
We do not share what members say inside the Dealroom with anyone outside the Dealroom, except where compelled by law.
Service providers.
A short list of vendors helps us run the site and the Dealroom — email delivery, payment processing, video hosting, hosting infrastructure. They process information on our behalf, under contract, and only to the extent needed to do their job.
Cookies.
We use a small number of first-party cookies. The session cookie keeps you signed in; a preference cookie remembers your light/dark mode choice. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Your rights.
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email privacy@jarfinancialgroup.com from the address on file and we will respond within thirty days. If you are a resident of California, the EU, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, we will honor those rights to the extent the law requires.
Changes to this policy.
If we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and email members at the address on file. Continued use of the site after the change means you accept the updated policy.
